We must fully fund @DHSgov so that we can finally get Secret Service personnel paid and fully funded while they carry out their important mission for our country - as well as all other DHS functions. @ICEgov and @CBP are just as important to our national security. It is long past time to fully fund DHS, as the threats against our country are growing exponentially.
In that regard, Iβm urging that as soon as the Senate returns this week, that we push for fully funding DHS. I implore my Democrat colleagues to support fully funding DHS at a time of great danger to America.
I will be introducing standalone legislation tomorrow to authorize and appropriate money to fully fund the White House presidential ballroom - which over time will provide adequate security for this president and future presidents for events like the White House Correspondents Dinner.

Analysis Summary
Graham is announcing legislation to fund a White House ballroom, framed around security needs following the April 26 shooting at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner. The ballroom project is real and controversialβit carries a $400 million price tag with an undisclosed contractor (Clark Construction), and a preservation group sued to block it before the DOJ pressured them to drop the suit citing the shooting. Graham is using the incident to build political momentum for the ballroom funding, which critics argue repurposes a security incident to advance an expensive executive construction project that has no documented security benefit from independent assessments.
