Cole Tomas Allen, 31, was charged with attempting to assassinate President Trump in the April 26 White House Correspondents' Dinner shooting, along with additional federal crimes including unlawful firearm transport. The charges were confirmed at his first court appearance on Monday. Investigators say Allen took a selfie in his hotel room minutes before the attack, wearing an ammunition bag and holster, and that he shot a Secret Service officer during the incident at a security checkpoint.
