A Quebec man was sentenced to 18 months house arrest after pleading guilty to assaulting his two-month-old daughter, who arrived at hospital with approximately 50 fractures of varying ages, including a broken femur. Medical examinations suggested three or four separate non-accidental trauma events caused the injuries discovered during her hospitalization in 2018. The mother pleaded guilty to negligence last year and is awaiting sentencing, while the child was removed from parental care.
