Ghalibaf announced Iran scrapped that agreement, saying the strait would remain closed as long as the US blockade continued. Ghalibaf's statement directly contradicted Trump's claim that Iran had cleared the strait for transit. Iran's Revolutionary Guard says the Strait has now "returned to its previous state" of closure because of the US blockade of Iranian ports.
