All through my formative years when I was entering the workforce there was this narrative about how "work has changed" people would no longer work at the same job for decades because "the economy is moving too quickly" (Please explain what this means if you know. No one has ever explained this to me in a way that makes any sense.)
Young people would work more jobs! Maybe more jobs at once. And this is wonderful because you'd make more money and have... freedom or something.
It's nonsense.
