Analysis Summary
Apple patched a security flaw today that allowed the FBI to extract deleted Signal message notifications from iPhones even after the app was uninstalled. The vulnerability persisted in the notification system even after users deleted Signal, letting law enforcement tools access content that should have been inaccessible. iOS 26.4.2 fixes this, but the incident highlights how notification data can linger on devices independently of app data β a gap many users assume doesn't exist.
