Doesn't work without a Google/Apple-tied device btw. There is absolutely no story for how this would work on a desktop, anything without a Google/Apple account, or open source OS at all either.

Analysis Summary
The EU Digital Identity Wallet's primary distribution is through iOS and Android app stores, but the post overstates the technical limitations. EU regulations require open-source code, and reference implementations include browser-based fallback and web deployment optionsβthough desktop functionality remains genuinely underdeveloped compared to mobile. The concern about incomplete desktop support is valid; the claim that it's completely impossible is not supported by the available technical specifications.
Claims Analysis (2)
βDoesn't work without a Google/Apple-tied deviceβ
Mobile apps are primary distribution method via Google/Apple stores, but web-based fallback and deployment options exist per reference architecture.
βThere is absolutely no story for how this would work on a desktopβ
Browser fallback exists in design, but desktop functionality appears limited compared to mobile; legitimate accessibility gap for desktop-primary users.
