UPDATE: What comes up first in search engines is some kind of spam website. (Doh!). So this is not a real airport site.
What comes up as Atlanta Airport's website generates TSA wait times based on this function. (figured out the site is actually fake/misleading)
(yes, they are generating wait times by multiplying a random number times 11 and adding 5).
You can verify this by going to a different browser/computer and you will get a whole set of completely random numbers for TSA line wait times.

Analysis Summary
This is solid detective work. The post correctly identifies that atlanta-international-airport.com is a fake site impersonating Atlanta's real airport (atl.com). The finding that it serves random TSA wait times is plausibleβthe official airport website isn't reliably providing real wait data during the current government shutdown. The specific algorithm claim (random Γ 11 + 5) can't be verified independently but the broader point stands: travelers searching for wait times could land on a fraudulent domain.
Claims Analysis (4)
βWhat comes up as Atlanta Airport's website generates TSA wait times based on this functionβ
The official site is atl.com, not atlanta-international-airport.com. The post's core finding that a fake domain exists is confirmed.
βthe site is actually fake/misleadingβ
Fake airport pages impersonating airports are a known scam tactic with no affiliation to real airports. This site matches that pattern.
βthey are generating wait times by multiplying a random number times 11 and adding 5β
The post provides technical analysis of the algorithm, but no web sources verify or contradict this specific mathematical formula. The claim that wait times are fake/random is plausible given the fake domain, but the exact formula cannot be independently corroborated.
βYou will get a whole set of completely random numbers for TSA line wait timesβ
Hartsfield-Jackson's own TSA wait time web page remains functionally offline, confirming legitimate wait time data is unavailable. A fake site displaying random numbers is a logical consequence of this gap.
