Very funny screw up by Meta. They installed a keylogger on employees PCs, so they could train their AI. However they exposed the collected data online, so anybody could see what anybody who works there has been typing.

Analysis Summary
Meta built a keystroke-collection program to train AI and accidentally left employee data exposed internally, allowing workers to see each other's typing data. The post calls it a 'screw up' โ it was, but the exposure was limited to inside Meta, not public. Meta paused the program after the internal leak was discovered.
Claims Analysis (2)
โMeta installed a keylogger on employees PCs to train their AIโ
Confirmed by Wired and multiple outlets. Meta has an employee keystroke-collection program for AI training.
โMeta exposed the collected keystroke data online so anybody could see what employees have been typingโ
The data was exposed internally (within Meta), not publicly online. Employees could access each other's keystrokes, not 'anybody' on the internet. Post overstates the scope of exposure.
