The state of New York – led by Governor Hochul – is pushing a policy that bars cooperation with ICE. Senate Republicans cannot let this stand.   New York is in open defiance of federal law by refusing to assist with the deportation of illegal immigrants. Their policy choices are a magnet for future illegal immigration. New York’s decision to continue sanctuary city policies harms the entire nation and the politicians who support these measures should pay a price.   Working with the Trump Administration, I hope and expect that Senate Republicans and hopefully some Democrats will see the danger in New York’s position to the country as a whole. I also hope we will again make an effort to pass my bill punishing sanctuary cities and states, and the politicians who support them.   Illegal immigration is not only an economic and crime issue, it is also a national security issue. We must push back vigorously against New York. Stay tuned. foxnews.com/politics/dem-g…

Analysis Summary
Governor Hochul is proposing the Local Cops Local Crimes Act to block New York police from cooperating with federal ICE operations—a policy that matches reported sanctuary city efforts and is confirmed by multiple outlets. The core facts are accurate: the bill exists, it restricts 287(g) agreements, and the Trump administration opposes it. However, Graham frames this as 'defiance of federal law' when legal experts quoted in the Fox News article itself say the policy is constitutionally doomed and may not survive court review—a detail the post omits. Graham's claim that sanctuary policies 'are a magnet for future illegal immigration' is presented as fact but lacks empirical support; it's analytical speculation. The tone escalates with phrases like 'open defiance' and 'must pay a price,' signaling retribution, which goes beyond reporting the policy disagreement.
