Analysis Summary
The post confuses two separate stories: Towson University (not Cornell) closed its gender studies program, according to an Education Department press release. Gas prices are not currently near $8/gallon nationally. The author admits they haven't verified either claim and it doesn't affect them — then frames the imaginary Cornell closure as somehow offsetting real fuel costs, creating a false equivalence between an unverified (and likely false) university program change and a genuine economic concern.
